Lean construction techniques contributed to project efficiencies, including zero punch list.
Remodel of three suites in an existing building, consisting of roughly 15,500 sq. ft. to create a new Palo Alto Medical Foundation (PAMF) primary care clinic. The new clinic consists of primary care (internal medicine, family practice and prediatrics), two draw stations with point-of-care testing, a general radiology room, and support spaces.
Scope included renovation of the existing parking lot and path to the building for ADA compliance, demolition of existing interiors, potential for a new mechanical system, and completely new interior construction, including support space. The existing building was partially occupied during construction.
Contracted under an Integrated Form of Agreement (IFOA), the project employed multiple Lean construction techniques, including Last Planner scheduling, Percent Plan Complete to track weekly work plan, and “pre-rock walks” to ensure user needs were being properly met.
